Biography

Christopher Matthew Ríos Lorenzo is a Puerto Rican classical guitarist.  At the age of seven, he discovered his love for music and became a self-taught guitarist until the beginning of his undergraduate studies. Described as a spiritual, passionate and empathic performer, Christopher has an affinity for Iberoamerican music.

As part of his training, Christopher Matthew has participated in guitar festivals such as Guitar Alla Grande Festival 11th and 12thEdition in Gatineau, Quebec, Domaine Forget Guitar Festival in Quebec, Canada, San Sebastian del Pepino de las Vegas International Guitar Festival (2nd, 3rd and 4th ed.) in Puerto Rico. In addition, Christopher has participated in master-classes with internationally renowned artists such as Manuel Barrueco (Cuba-USA), Javier Bravo (Argentina), Jérôme Ducharme (Canada), Matteo Mela (Italia), David Russell (United Kingdom), Bruce Holzman (USA), Lorenzo Micheli (Italy) and Pavel Steidl (Czech Republic).

As a young artist he has performed in cities throughout Puerto Rico and in various venues in the Ontario and Saskatchewan region. Christopher Matthew obtained a Master degree in  Classical Guitar Performance from the University of Ottawa (Canada) under the guidance of Canadian guitarist and composer Professor Patrick Roux and a Bachelor degree from the Puerto Rico Music Conservatoire. Currently, he is producing his first compact disc were he captures his experiences as a young artist.
